I decided on making a cabinet over 6 months ago and rather than re-inventing the wheel, I used the Lusid's cabinet plans as a starter to make my first MAME cabinet. it pretty much made out of oak and oak plywood.. I used the slikstik co2 layout for the control panel. Still a work in progress.....
